Scholarships and Prizes in French

Prizes and awards requiring application:

- ADEFUO Prize ($500)

For undergraduate students enrolled in a French Program and wishing to study in a francophone university in Quebec or in France. Prize awarded to the best essay written in a French Department. Applicants must be recommended by an instructor in March.

- C.D. Howe Memorial Scholarship ($15,000+)

The student selected for the Student Exchange Program between Laval University and the University of Toronto. The recipient must be enrolled in the Major or Specialist program in Economics, History, or Political Science (including Industrial relations). The recipient must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada, with his/her mother tongue other than French.

- Department of French Bursary for Studying in France ($1,000)

Apply by April 1st to the Department of French, Study Elsewhere Advisor, room 209, Odette Hall, 50 St. Joseph St. (416-926-1300 ext. 3141).

 

- John H. Moss Memorial Scholarship ($6,500)

For third or fourth‑year students going on to a graduate degree or a second degree (any subject).

- Martin Simpson Memorial Bursary in French ($1,000)

To encourage undergraduate studies in French with the objective of promoting better relations and understanding between French and English-speaking Canadians. Open to Trinity College students only.

- Morris Sniderman Bursary in French (approximately $150)

For students specializing in languages who are in financial need.

- Queen Elizabeth Silver Jubilee ($4,500)

To encourage undergraduate study in the student's second official language.
