Special Topics in French Linguistics: French in Contact

The course presents an overview of the various phenomena of language contact found in bilingual (or multilingual) communities where French is one of the spoken languages. Focus will be put on the linguistic aspects of the phenomena, with links to the psychological and sociopolitical aspects.  This course is listed as FRE 1128H in the Graduate Department of French listing.

Assignments and evaluation:

4 comments on articles (25%), one oral presentation with hand-out (30%), one final essay (35%), overall assessment (10%).
