Biography : 

Michael Friesner holds a PhD and an MA in linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania as well as an MBA from Georgetown University. He has taught French, linguistics, language pedagogy, and/or English at the Université du Québec à Montréal, the University of Pennsylvania, the Rassias Center for World Languages and Cultures at Dartmouth College, York University and Ryerson University. He has undertaken research in variationist sociolinguistics, focusing specifically on issues related to language and dialect contact in Quebec.
